We live in the Land of 10,000 lakes and sometimes it seems that we have nearly that many choices regarding our Auto Insurance coverages. Let’s take a closer look.
We are fortunate we live in a State where if you are injured in an Auto Accident, your medical bills and lost wages are paid from your Automobile policy, up to $20,000 per accident, no matter who caused the accident. This is called Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or No Fault Medical and Wage Loss coverage.
One reasonably priced policy option that many drivers fail to purchase is what is called “Stacking” your Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or No fault, when there are two or more vehicles on a policy. So, when an accident occurs with any one vehicle listed on your policy, your Medial and Wage Loss benefits automatically doubles ($40,000) (for two cars on a policy) or triples ($60,000) (for three cars on a policy), etc...
Another commonly overlooked endorsement that is available with most insurance companies is Full Glass Coverage. Full Glass automatically waives your comprehensive deductible for a comprehensive claim to your glass or windshield. There are some restrictions for commercial vehicles by some companies and Full Glass can be limited to private passenger vehicles only. Even though cost to repair or replace some vehicle windshields can approach several hundred or thousands of dollars, this benefit is a good one to keep, especially for those vehicles that are on the road doing a fair amount of driving or not garaged. Please note however that this endorsement does not replace your responsibility to keep your vehicles maintenance up to date.
